Snap has announced a new content collaboration with BBC Studios, the commercial subsidiary of the BBC Group, to host made-for-mobile, short-form content on Snapchat Discover.
On Snapchat, BBC Studios will publish highlights and behind-the-scenes content from the world’s biggest motoring entertainment show, ‘BBC Top Gear’, as well as all the action from Albert Square’s residents with the soap, ‘EastEnders’.
Funny Parts, a new Snapchat channel, will also make its debut. Funny Parts will showcase the best comedy and entertainment from BBC Studios, with a focus on brand new short-form content and clips of the funniest moments from a diverse range of shows such as ‘This Country’, ‘Inside Number 9’, and ‘The Young Offenders’. “Hack Attack’ and ‘Little Rants’ are two digital-first commissions from the channel that feature a slew of familiar faces, including new comedy talent and stars from ‘TOWIE’ and RuPaul’s ‘Drag Race’.
As per a press release, the content agreement also includes shows from BBC Earth, the home of BBC Studios’ world-renowned science and nature content, showcasing the best from the archives alongside original commissions, with Snapchatters in more than 20 countries able to watch new content every week.
