Snap partners with BBC Studios on made-for-mobile content

Snap has announced a new content collaboration with BBC Studios, the commercial subsidiary of the BBC Group, to host made-for-mobile, short-form content on Snapchat Discover.

On Snapchat, BBC Studios will publish highlights and behind-the-scenes content from the world’s biggest motoring entertainment show, ‘BBC Top Gear’, as well as all the action from Albert Square’s residents with the soap, ‘EastEnders’.

Funny Parts, a new Snapchat channel, will also make its debut. Funny Parts will showcase the best comedy and entertainment from BBC Studios, with a focus on brand new short-form content and clips of the funniest moments from a diverse range of shows such as ‘This Country’, ‘Inside Number 9’, and ‘The Young Offenders’“Hack Attack’ and ‘Little Rants’ are two digital-first commissions from the channel that feature a slew of familiar faces, including new comedy talent and stars from ‘TOWIE’ and RuPaul’s ‘Drag Race’.

As per a press release, the content agreement also includes shows from BBC Earth, the home of BBC Studios’ world-renowned science and nature content, showcasing the best from the archives alongside original commissions, with Snapchatters in more than 20 countries able to watch new content every week.

We look forward to bringing these fan-favorite TV shows from BBC Studios to millions of Snapchatters as our slate of UK broadcasters expands,” she added.

Snapchat partners with over 800 trusted digital publishers, broadcasters, and other Discover partners to publish news, sports, and entertainment content from over 20 countries.
