Sony BBC Earth launched a campaign titled ‘Care for Earth, Care for Life’ to commemorate Earth Day on its special day.
To add a quirky touch, the channel curated three animated short films about serious environmental issues like drought, global meltdown, and the impact of plastic on aquatic life.
The videos use animal characters such as elephants, polar bears, and blue whales to shed light on the current state of the planet.
The films were creatively made to suit all audiences with a common message, ‘Care for Earth, Care for Life’, to ensure the topics resonate well with the viewers.
One of the videos depicts elephants fighting for their lives in the face of a massive water crisis. It expresses how climate change has affected rainfall levels, affecting all life on Earth, including these majestic beings.
Another video shows the impact of melting sea ice on animals in the polar regions. Polar bears have been seen swimming hundreds of miles to find land and food.
The third video focused on one of the most pressing issues we face today: proper disposal of plastic, which is altering habitats and contributing to climate change.
The mini-films depict how microplastics and industrial waste kill thousands of whales each year, capturing the impact of plastic on marine life in a very interesting way.
Garvita Gulati, the Water Girl of India, and plant influencers Ann Mathew (Geeks of Green) and Ekta Chaudhary (Garden UP) have all lent their support to the videos. They have also encouraged others to help the planet in whatever way they can. Mad Over Marketing shared the campaign idea and the story behind it in a carousel post titled ‘Care for Earth. Care for Life.’ The campaign has received over 2.47 million views on Sony BBC Earth’s social media accounts.
To generate excitement for the launch, the channel published interesting posts centered on the three major issues affecting the planet. The posts revealed eye-opening facts about the world’s problems, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Rohan Jain, Business Operations Head – Sony AATH and Head – Marketing & Insights, English Cluster, Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “At Sony BBC Earth, we pride ourselves in bringing forth meaningful engagement for our viewers.
