Sony Sports Network has expanded its partnership with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Europe’s governing body of football.
As part of the agreement, the broadcaster will have exclusive media rights to all UEFA National Team competitions scheduled between 2022 and 2028, as well as the UEFA EURO 2024 and 2028, as well as European Qualifiers and Friendly Matches.
The UEFA competitions will be available only on linear television in the Indian subcontinent, including India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and Sri Lanka, as well as live streaming on SonyLIV, their on-demand OTT platform.
Sony Sports Network will broadcast live UEFA EURO 2024, one of the largest international football championships including all of Europe’s best national teams.
The much-anticipated showpiece tournament will begin on June 14, 2024, and will be held in Germany, with the Final planned for July 14, 2024, at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
To qualify for UEFA EURO 2024, teams must compete in the European Qualifiers, which will take place from March 2023 to March 2024 with the Play-Offs. The qualifiers will be contested in a round-robin format with 53 teams divided into ten groups and will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network.
All UEFA Nations League matches will also be televised on Sony Sports Network. The UEFA Nations League Finals 2023 will take place on June 14, 2023, involving the Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, and Italy.
The broadcaster will air approximately 1300 football matches across its networks as part of the six-year agreement. The network will broadcast the European Qualifiers for 2024 and 2028, as well as the upcoming two UEFA EUROs. Furthermore, football fans will be able to see all of the UEFA Nations League games in 2024 and 2026, as well as the UEFA Nations League Finals in 2025 and 2027.
Furthermore, Sony Sports Network remains the official broadcaster of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, Bundesliga, Emirates FA Cup, and other competitions.
