Sony Pictures Networks India has secured the exclusive media rights to broadcast the Davis Cup in India for the next two years, 2023-2024.

Sportfive, a global sports media rights agency, facilitated the transaction. Following the television and digital rights agreement, the broadcaster will televise the Davis Cup on its sports channels across the Indian subcontinent, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, as well as live-stream it on their premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

The broadcaster will telecast the Qualifiers and Finals of the 2023 and 2024 seasons as part of the agreement.

The Davis Cup, also known as the ‘World Cup of Tennis,’ has a 110-year history and has seen participation from 135+ nations. Every year, more than 144 players compete in the tournament. The United States has won 32 titles in the tournament’s history, while Australia has won 28.

Men’s tennis teams from 24 countries will compete in the Qualifiers for the 111th edition of the prestigious cup. In a home-and-away format, the Qualifiers will feature four singles and one double match. The qualifiers will then face the finalists from 2022, Canada and Australia, as well as wild cards Italy and Spain.
