In a groundbreaking development for cricket enthusiasts, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has clinched exclusive media rights for the inaugural season of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).

The agreement encompasses broadcast rights, ensuring that the league’s matches will be accessible on both linear television and the popular OTT platform, Sony LIV.

Under this collaboration, Sony LIV will stream the ISPL matches for free, extending the reach of thrilling cricket action to audiences nationwide. On television, the matches are scheduled to be telecasted on Sony Ten 2 & Ten 2 HD, with select games simulcasted on Sony Ten 5 & Ten 5 HD, covering viewers across the Indian sub-continent, excluding Pakistan.

Embodying the philosophy of #Street2Stadium, ISPL aims to blend the skills from the streets with the excitement of the stadium, providing a platform for cricketing talent across the country to showcase their prowess on a global stage.

The ISPL is set to take place from March 6th to March 15th, 2024, in Mumbai, featuring matches from 5 pm to 10 pm. The inaugural edition promises an exciting lineup, accompanied by live performances from top artists, laser shows, drone displays, and the beats of DJ Chetas, creating a unique cricketing and entertainment experience.

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution & International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, expressed enthusiasm for the tournament’s philosophy and highlighted their commitment to elevating the popularity of cricket in India.

Ashish Shelar and Amol Kale, Core Committee Members of ISPL, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Sony Pictures Networks India, foreseeing an unparalleled viewing experience for cricket enthusiasts. Suraj Samat, Commissioner of ISPL, sees the collaboration as a testament to the league’s growing appeal and its commitment to making cricket more inclusive and engaging.

ISPL, featuring six competitive teams, aims to provide a platform for undiscovered talents to display their skills, supported by cricket legends and inspirational film stars like Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ram Charan, Suriya, and others.

As the cricketing world eagerly anticipates this fusion of street cricket’s raw talent and stadium-style excitement, Sony Pictures Networks India’s acquisition of the broadcast rights adds another layer of excitement to the much-anticipated Indian Street Premier League.
