JioCinema, the TATA Indian Premier League’s digital rights holder, invited fans to a thrilling TATA IPL Fan Park experience in Vadodara, Kurnool, Bardhaman, Jalgaon, Varanasi, Karnal, and Thoothukudi as excitement around the league reached new heights over the weekend.
Thousands turned out to cheer on their favorite teams during the four-weekend games, which were live-streamed via JioCinema across the seven TATA IPL Fan Parks.
Fan Parks are part of JioCinema’s larger plans to bring cricket to every internet user and every community with internet access by inviting fans to stream venues in more than 35 cities and towns.
As per a press release, JioCinema plans to make out-of-home sports viewing omnipresent across 13 states for the first time on digital, expanding their digital-first offerings. In the first three weekends since April 16, approximately 15 cities and towns have been covered.
It is the first time that a sporting event has been streamed digitally on such a large scale for community viewing, bringing the tournament to a large number of people in areas where access to paid linear TV channels is still limited.
On Saturday, defending champions Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets in the first game of a doubleheader in Vadodara, Kurnool, and Bardhaman, while Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Delhi Capitals by nine runs in the second match.
Punjab Kings defeated four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in a thriller by four wickets in the first game on Sunday afternoon, followed by Mumbai Indians defeating Rajasthan Royals by six wickets in the 1000th TATA IPL game on Sunday evening. It was also the highest successful total chased at Wankhede Stadium in TATA IPL history.
JioCinema is bringing cricket to every internet user and community with access to the internet by inviting fans to TATA IPL Fan Parks. The TATA IPL Fan Park is free to enter. The TATA IPL Fan Park provided a wide range of activities for people of all ages, including a dedicated Family Zone, Kids Zone, Food & Beverage, and the TATA IPL Fan Park.
TATA IPL Fan Parks were set up in prime public spaces across the seven cities, transforming them into entertainment hubs for game fans. People were able to watch live-action while also spending time with their families and friends.
