The highly anticipated London premiere of Guy Ritchie’s new TV series, ‘The Gentlemen,’ took place on Tuesday, drawing a star-studded crowd, including former footballer David Beckham and actor Jason Statham.
The event showcased the renowned director’s venture into the world of episodic storytelling, promising fans an engaging crime drama experience, Reuters reported.
‘The White Lotus’ actor Theo James, who stars as Eddie Horniman in the eight-part series, revealed insights into working with Ritchie, describing him as a ‘seminal figure’ in the British film industry. James shared that the collaboration was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, highlighting the spontaneity of Ritchie’s directing style.
In ‘The Gentlemen,’ James’s character, Eddie Horniman, finds himself entangled in a web of crime and violence as he inherits his family’s country estate concealing a cannabis business.
Reflecting on the plot, American actor Giancarlo Esposito, who plays a billionaire interested in purchasing the family mansion, praised Ritchie for merging the ideals of criminal and aristocratic families in a captivating way.
