‘The Legend of Prince Rama’ to be screened at Parliament Feb 15

The 1993 Indo-Japanese animated classic, ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’, is set for a special screening at the Indian Parliament on February 15, organized by movie distribution company Geek Pictures.

The screening will be attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, along with Members of Parliament and special guests from the cultural sector, PTI has reported.

Originally released in 1993, ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ was a collaborative effort between Indian and Japanese filmmakers, bringing to life the ancient Hindu epic in a visually stunning animated format.

Expressing gratitude for the event, Geek Pictures stated in a press release, “We are deeply honoured by this gesture from the Parliament of India. It is a privilege to see our work being recognised at such a prestigious level.”

The film, directed by Yugo Sako and Ram Mohan, with animation by Koichi Sasaki, has been lauded for its artistic excellence, cultural authenticity, and engaging storytelling. Over the years, it has gained a cult following, particularly among Indian audiences who admire its faithful depiction of Lord Rama’s journey.
