Disney+ Hotstar is all set to kick off 2025 with its highly anticipated series ‘The Secret of The Shiledars’, starring the versatile actor Rajeev Khandelwal. The streaming giant announced on Friday that the show, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of ‘Munjya’ fame, will premiere on January 31, 2025, PTI reported.

Touted as a first-of-its-kind treasure-hunt drama, the series promises to be a captivating blend of history and adventure. It also features a stellar ensemble cast, including Sai Tamhankar, Gaurav Amlani, and veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi in pivotal roles.

Set against the backdrop of the Maratha Empire, ‘The Secret of The Shiledars’ explores the untold stories of the Shiledars—elite military units tasked with guarding the empire’s treasures and secrets. The narrative is steeped in historical intrigue, weaving together adventure, mystery, and the rich heritage of the Maratha era.

Director Aditya Sarpotdar expressed his excitement about bringing this unique concept to life. “The idea of the Shiledars, or ‘The Guardians,’ hasn’t been explored in storytelling before, which makes this project incredibly fulfilling. The series pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. Rajeev Khandelwal has truly poured his heart into this role, and I’m confident viewers will be mesmerized by his performance,” Sarpotdar shared in a statement.

The series is produced by Nitin Vaidya under the banner of Dashami Creations LLP, a production house known for its commitment to innovative storytelling.

Rajeev Khandelwal, known for his ability to take on challenging roles, described his experience as transformative. “The Secret of The Shiledars chose me, and I’m grateful for it. Aditya’s futuristic vision and attention to detail made it easy for me to dive into this evolving character. Like many of us, I have always been fascinated by history.
