In a dazzling display of Bengali culture and excellence, TV9 Bangla recently hosted its flagship award program, Bijaya Sammelani, at a heritage hotel in Kolkatta, at Heritage hotel.
The event was a celebration of all things Bengali, featuring an array of awards under the category ‘Sera Naye,’ honoring the best in various aspects of Durga Puja celebrations, and more.
The ‘Sera Naye’ awards highlighted outstanding achievements in various categories, including:
Sera Barowari (Best Durga Puja of Puja Associations) – Awarded to Dumdum Park Tarun Sangha.
Sera Pratima (Best Idol) – Bagged by Bosepukur Sitala Mandir.
Sera Alankar (Best Ornaments) – Recognized Chorbagan Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity for their excellence.
Sera Theme (Best Theme) – The award for Best Theme went to Baghajatin Tarun Sangha.
Sera Paribesh (Best Ambiance) – Newtown Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity was honored for creating the best ambiance.
Sera Suraksha (Excellence in Safety) – Ajeyo Sanghati secured the top spot in safety.
Mayer Puja Meyer Hatey (Worshipped by Daughter to Maa Durga Goddess) – Arjunpur Amra Sobai Club received this heartfelt recognition.
Manusher Pashe (By the People) – Chakraberia Sarbojanin Durgotsab was celebrated for their community involvement.
Sera Abason (Best Apartment Pujas) – Silver Oak Estate stood out for its apartment pujas.
Sera Samagam (Best Gathering) – Santosh Mitra Square’s gathering was deemed the best.
Sera Srijan (Best Creativity) – Hatibagan Nabin Pally showcased the pinnacle of creativity.
Jelar Sera Puja (Best Pujas across the Bengal Districts) – Barma Shell Dakshinpally Sarbojonin Durga Puja Committee was honored as the best across the districts.
But Bijaya Sammelani was more than just an awards ceremony. It was a cultural extravaganza, featuring captivating rural folk performances such as the vibrant Chhau dance—a semi-classical Indian dance with martial and folk traditions originating from Purulia, a culturally enriched district of Bengal.
The event also featured the rhythmic beats of the khol, a terracotta two-sided drum used in northern and eastern India for accompaniment with devotional or bhakti music.
TV9 Bangla Bijaya Sammelani was co-presented by SRMB Real Edge and co-powered by Finolex Pipes, Kesh King, and Dear Lottery. Special partners included JBG Hexa and Super Power Detergent.
