With its pan-India presence, TV9 Network has a strong connection with healthcare professionals across the country. And, over the last three years, the network has earned viewers’ trust through a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at providing structured information in the healthcare space.

“In the post-Covid era, we’ve seen people prioritize their health and fitness. However, oral health is rarely discussed in the popular media. That is why TV9 Network has partnered with industry thought leader Sensodyne to raise oral hygiene awareness,” said Raktim Das, TV9 Network’s Chief Growth Officer (Broadcasting & Digital).

“In the run-up to World Oral Health Day, we brought together leading practitioners from the industry on one platform – Oral Health Summit 2023,” he said of the Network’s commitment to mainstreaming oral healthcare in the country. It’s heartening to see India’s top oral health experts join the cause.”

Sensodyne India’s ‘Be Sensitive to Oral Health’ campaign for World Oral Health Day aims to enable 100,000 dental check-ups across the country. We appreciate our collaboration with the Indian Dental Association in organizing mega camps for oral health screening and education across the country.”

Dr. L Swasticharan, additional DDG & director (Emergency Medical Relief), DGHS, MoHFW, Government of India, spoke about the government’s various initiatives to make oral health accessible and affordable.

The Ministry of Health is planning a month-long celebration of World Oral Health Day in all dental colleges across the country. This will help to raise awareness about the importance of oral hygiene, according to Dr. Swasticharan. “The mouth is the mirror of the body,” he said. As a result, we must take good care of our dental health. One of the main causes of the most common oral health issues is our lifestyle habits, such as the use of tobacco in both smoking and smokeless forms.”

Other experts in attendance included Padma Bhushan and Padma Shree Awardee Brig Dr. Anil Kohli, Former President, of the Dental Council of India (DCI), Dr. Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and Dr. Ritu Duggal, chief, Centre for Dental Education & Research, AIIMS.

Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Hon. Secretary General of, Indian Dental Association (IDA), shed light on improving the country’s oral health conditions and the role of the association in accelerating the development of dentistry in India.

Dr. Sunita Gupta, senior professor and head of Oral Medicine and Radiology at the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, and Dr. Anil Kumar Chandna, professor and director (PG Studies) Institute of Dental Sciences Executive Committee Members, Dental Council of India.

Dr. Bela Jain, chairman of dentistry at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, and Dr. Amrita Gogia, Head – Dental Sciences, at Medanta Hospital, were also in attendance, and they spoke extensively about the importance of proper oral care in India.

Dr. Gautam Khatak, HOD of the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital’s Dental Department, Dr. Rajiv Kumar Chugh, president of the Indian Dental Association, and Dr. Sharad Kapoor, member of the Dental Council of India, also spoke about the importance of dental healthcare in the country.

Aside from the informative sessions, the event was graced by industry veterans such as Dr. Y K Virmani, proprietor of Dr. Virmani Dental Centre, Secretary General of the International College of Dentists, Dr. Anupam Bhargava, consulting Endodontist & Dental Surgeon, Santosh Dental Clinic, and Dr. Seema Sharma, Director & Senior Consultant, Focus Dental.

The august gathering debated the significance of the day commemorated to promote oral hygiene. They also discussed the importance of dental care and why everyone should be concerned about their dental health.
