Twitter adds feature on audio translations

Twitter merges misinformation, spam prevention teams

Social media giant Twitter continues to expand its accessibility tools, with a new option to translate charts into audio elements for visually impaired users.

It will allow visually impaired persons to ‘listen’ to charts by converting data into pitched sounds, which will be accompanied by a written description.

Over the last year, Twitter has worked to improve accessibility features such as alt-text description display, auto-captions on video clips, and a new ‘CC’ button on videos with captions.

Earlier, Twitter added a dedicated ‘+ALT’ button to post photographs, making it easier for users to add alt text descriptions to their shared images.
