Warner Bros unveils blockbuster 2025 slate featuring 'Mickey 17', 'Superman', and more

Warner Bros Pictures has announced an impressive lineup of theatrical releases for 2025, promising an exhilarating year for cinephiles.

 The slate, revealed on Tuesday, marks the highest number of theatrical releases by any studio for the year, reaffirming Warner Bros’ commitment to delivering diverse and captivating cinematic experiences globally and in India, PTI reported.

Among the most anticipated films is Bong Joon-Ho’s ‘Mickey 17’, marking the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s return to the big screen after ‘Parasite’. Starring Robert Pattinson, the sci-fi epic will debut on March 7, 2025, offering audiences a gripping narrative.

Adding to the excitement, the much-awaited ‘Superman’, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as the titular hero, is set for a July 11 release. This new iteration of the superhero promises to bring fresh energy to the iconic DC Universe.

Another major highlight is the animated ‘A Minecraft Movie’, led by Jason Momoa and Jack Black, which is slated for release on April 4. Following this, fans can dive into Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s gritty drama ‘Sinners’,  scheduled for April 18, and the supernatural horror installment “Final Destination: Bloodlines” on May 16.

Brad Pitt’s adrenaline-fueled sports action drama ‘F1’ hits theatres on June 27, followed by the spine-chilling ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ on September 5, and Christian Bale’s intense drama ‘The Bride’ on September 26. Gaming enthusiasts can look forward to ‘Mortal Kombat II’, a sequel to the 2021 hit, releasing on October 24.

Universal Pictures, distributed by Warner Bros, also boasts a stellar lineup. The adventure-packed ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ releases on June 13, while ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ stomps into theatres on July 4. Horror lovers will be treated to the chilling sequel ‘M3GAN 2.0’ on June 27, and fans of family films can enjoy the animated ‘The Bad Guys 2’ on August 1.

Later in the year, the Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa-led comedy ‘Animal Friends’ debuts on October 10, while the Michael Jackson biographical drama ‘Michael’ arrives on October 2. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated ‘Wicked: For Good’, the follow-up to 2024’s musical blockbuster, lands on November 21. Closing the year is ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’, a thrilling sequel set for December 5.
