Roku, Inc. and Warner Bros. Discovery, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies, have reached an agreement to bring Warner Bros. branded FAST channels to The Roku Channel.
The channels, which will feature popular premium content such as ‘Westworld’, ‘The Bachelor ‘,’ ‘Cake Boss’, ‘Say Yes to the Dress’, ‘F-Boy Island’, and others will launch on The Roku Channel in spring 2023.
Along with brand-new FAST channels, the agreement will bring about 2000 hours of on-demand library programming to The Roku Channel.
Hundreds of TV shows and movies from Warner Bros. Discovery’s illustrious brand portfolio, including HBO, HBO Max, Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, and others, will now be available for free on The Roku Channel.
“As FAST continues to explode in popularity among cord-cutters, we’re seeing content players increasingly shift their focus toward capturing this audience, by bringing some of their best stuff to FAST,” said Rob Holmes, vice president of programming at Roku.
“The rapid expansion of premium content on FAST benefits both viewers and content owners, as well as advertisers seeking to reach these audiences through well-known programming. We’re thrilled to be a part of Warner Bros. Discovery is one of The Roku Channel’s inaugural FAST partners, and we look forward to introducing its incredible TV shows, films, and entertainment brands to a whole new audience,” Holmes added.
The announcement builds on The Roku Channel’s recent significant enhancements to its FAST offering, which included deals that added popular programming from AMC Networks, NBCUniversal, WMX (Warner Music Experience), the National Hockey League, and others to the service.
David Decker, Warner Bros.’ President of Content Sales, said, “We love working with world-class, cutting-edge partners like The Roku Channel,” Discovery added. Their innovative platforms enable us to reach out to fans across the country in new ways.”
