Indian history enthusiasts and curious minds alike are in for a treat as Warner Bros. Discovery prepares to unveil its newest show, ‘History Hunter,’ hosted by the charismatic actor and host Maniesh Paul.

This eight-part docuseries will take viewers on an enthralling journey through the mysteries and legends of India’s rich history. The premiere is set for November 20, and the show will be available on both Discovery Channel and discovery+.

The series promises to uncover hidden gems and untold stories from India’s past, ranging from the mysterious disappearance of a world-class Indian university that vanished from both maps and memory 1500 years ago, to the baffling engineering feat that raised an 80-tonne rock 200 feet into the air without the aid of modern machinery.

Maniesh Paul, who will lead the quest for answers, expressed his excitement about the project: “History Hunter has provided me with the opportunity to embark on an exhilarating journey across India, uncovering the hidden intricacies of age-old legends scattered throughout our diverse landscape. Collaborating with Warner Bros. Discovery has been a delightful experience. I eagerly anticipate sharing this thrilling series with the audience and believe it will captivate them, keeping them on the edge of their seats.”

The show’s episodes will spotlight historical landmarks such as Nalanda University, Golconda Fort, Mahabalipuram, Brihadeeswara Temple in Tamil Nadu, the city of Lakhpat, and the Saraswati River.

‘History Hunter’ will delve into fascinating topics, such as whether Tipu Sultan and his father Hyder Ali were the pioneers behind the world’s first militarized rockets, and whether the legendary Saraswati River is a myth or reality.

Additionally, it will explore the transformation of the city of Lakhpat from a thriving metropolis to an abandoned wasteland.

Sai Abishek, Head of Factual and Lifestyle Cluster, Discovery, South Asia, expressed his enthusiasm for the series, saying, “Warner Bros. Discovery continues to remain at the forefront of the factual entertainment genre, offering a diverse range of docuseries that resonate with audiences across the country. Our content slate showcases several Indian originals that take viewers through lesser-known facets of various historic subjects spanning decades and centuries.”

‘History Hunter’ is poised to become a must-watch for history enthusiasts, adventurers, and anyone intrigued by the enigmatic tales that surround India’s heritage.

Don’t miss the premiere on November 20th at 9:00 PM on Discovery Channel, and catch it for streaming on discovery+.
