Whatsapp to roll out 'Status Archive' feature for biz

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is reportedly rolling out a new feature called ‘status archive’ for businesses to beta test on Android.

When the feature is enabled, the status updates will be archived on users’ devices after 24 hours, according to IANS.

Furthermore, users can manage their archive preferences and view their archive directly from the Status tab’s menu.

Only businesses can view their archived status updates because the archive is always private.

Furthermore, according to the report, this feature could be very useful for businesses because it will allow them to republish a status from their archive and share it with their customers to improve their business.

The status updates will be saved on the device for up to 30 days, and businesses will be able to create Facebook or Instagram advertisements or share the status updates until they expire in the archive.

The new feature, which is currently available to beta testers, will be made available to more users in the coming weeks, according to the report.
