Patting itself on the back for having built a future-ready news media organization and having thwarted “entrenched” conspiracies of legacy media, Republic Media Networks, on its fourth birthday, said that “nationalism” formed its base.
In a series of tweets yesterday, Arnab Goswami, chief editor-cum-cofounder of Republic TV English news channel and its Hindi and Bengali siblings, highlighted the growth plans, while dwelling on the network’s success.

“Today with 1250 members, 3 leading channels, a massive digital presence and reaching over 30 crore (300 million) Indians every week, we are ready for the next phase of growth,” Goswami said.
“In our journey, the immeasurable love, support, warmth, faith & constant goodwill of hundreds of millions of REPUBLIC viewers & believers has made us overcome every test & hardship. It has made us convert every battle into an opportunity & every conspiracy into deeper resolve,” the message read.
Long criticized by a section of media for being jingoistic and opinionated, Goswami didn’t feel apologetic at all.
“Nationalism is at our core. The Nation needs a media that puts NATION FIRST. REPUBLIC will lead this wave into the future. In doing so, we will expand into languages and explore different mediums and geographies.
“There are more people in this country who know that the Nation will win than those who sit in their ivory towers trying to pull it down. To everyone at the REPUBLIC MEDIA NETWORK: My congratulations on building and being a big part of India’s PRESENT & FUTURE number one news network,” Goswami’s message asserted.
Republic’s co-founder said that the team has built a “future-ready news media organisation that is protected by the sheer independence of ownership and management” and the independent structure had “no parallel in this country” and was unique in the “entire world”.
“Four years have made us even firmer believers in the dream we started with. The dream of a new entrepreneurial news media that challenges and defeats those who represent the status quo of decades.
“This dream has turned into a marvelous reality, thwarting in the process the entrenched conspiracies of those who cannot compete on merit alone. The dream has become a reality because there are more people who believe in a new India than those who will work against it,” Goswami articulated the news group’s thought-process.
He concluded by adding: “We will work with honesty strength and passion to build a new India. Nothing can touch us when you are by our side.”
