In a recent announcement, the makers revealed that Bollywood actor Yami Gautam‘s upcoming political drama, ‘Article 370,’ is scheduled to hit theaters on February 23.
Produced by Jio Studios & B62 Studios, the film promises to deliver a compelling narrative inspired by true events that played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of Kashmir, PTI reported.
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the movie features Yami Gautam in the role of an intelligence agent. Known for her versatile roles in films like ‘Badlapur,’ ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike,’ ‘Bala,’ ‘A Thursday,’ and ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga,’ Gautam’s character plays a crucial part in the storyline that revolves around the dismantling of terrorism in Kashmir by rendering Article 370 ineffective.
Article 370, which granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, was revoked by the Central government on August 5, 2019. The region was subsequently bifurcated into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar, “Article 370” is poised to bring a thought-provoking narrative to the silver screen, shedding light on the historical events surrounding the abrogation of Article 370.
