On the 92nd birth anniversary of legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, the Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF) unveiled the launch of the YCF Scholarship Programme.
This initiative is designed to support the children of workers in the Hindi film industry, particularly those from low-income families. To be eligible, the children must come from families where members are registered with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), PTI reported.
The scholarship program aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students, helping them pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in fields like mass communication, filmmaking, production, direction, visual arts, cinematography, and animation.
Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films (YRF), said, “Yash Chopra always believed in giving back to the Hindi film industry in any way possible. His philosophy is deeply ingrained in our company’s culture. We hope this initiative will empower deserving students to follow their dreams and make a mark in our industry.”
Selected candidates will undergo a personalised interview process, and successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial aid to support their education. Further details about the programme are available on the foundation’s official website.
This initiative reflects YCF’s commitment to empowering the next generation of Hindi cinema.
