The second edition of ‘The Growth Summit: A Vision to a $10 Trillion Economy,’ a collaboration between YES BANK and CNBC-TV18, unfolded in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, showcasing a vibrant exchange of ideas among policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and academic experts.
According to the press release, the event, held in association with Max Life Insurance, aimed at deliberating key elements vital for India’s economic advancement, particularly focusing on the government’s ambitious 25-year plan to position India as the world’s third-largest economy with a $10 trillion GDP.
During the summit, Prashant Kumar, Managing Director & CEO of YES BANK, emphasized the pivotal role of Gujarat in India’s economic landscape. He highlighted Gujarat’s significant contribution of 33% to the nation’s exports in FY 2022-23 and its ambitions to reach a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Mr. Kumar positioned Gujarat as a beacon of opportunity, citing its leadership in fostering innovation and infrastructure development.
A major announcement during the summit was the launch of ‘Yes Private’ in Ahmedabad. This new market offering from YES BANK aims to collaborate with High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs), business owners, and C-Suite executives in their pursuit of leveraging opportunities on the road to a $10 trillion Indian economy.
The summit was initiated with a discussion on ‘Strengthening Indian Business from Within,’ featuring Mr. Piruz Khambatta, Chairman & MD of Rasna, who advocated for an inclusive ‘India model’ of growth. Subsequent panel discussions delved into topics such as ‘From India to the World: Unleashing A New Era of Global Ambitions’ and ‘India’s Role as A Global Hub of Growth,’ featuring industry leaders and entrepreneurs.
In a special address, Mr. Prashant Tripathy, MD & CEO of Max Life Insurance, emphasized the need for inclusive growth as India strives to become a $10 trillion economy by 2030-31. He called for life insurance players to align their strategies with IRDAI’s vision of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ to ensure widespread coverage and benefits.
