Zee 24 Ghanta to telecast Ananya Samman Feb 23

Zee 24 Ghanta is set to honour India’s unsung heroes and cultural icons with the prestigious ‘Ananya Samman 2025’, scheduled to air on February 23 at 5 pm. Known for celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions to society, this year’s edition promises to be an unforgettable tribute to resilience, social impact, and excellence across diverse fields.

As per a press release, the much-anticipated event will feature a spectacular opening act by the renowned musical duo Sourendro – Soumyojit, setting the stage for an evening that blends cultural richness with inspiring stories of human spirit. From grassroots activists transforming lives to cultural legends shaping India’s artistic landscape, ‘Ananya Samman 2025’ will bring viewers closer to the people who make a difference.

Among the awardees is Jagabandhu Mondal, whose determination to overcome physical challenges saw him pass his exams by writing with his foot—a testament to human perseverance. Also being honoured is Chitrak Pramanik, whose relentless dedication to animal rescue has made a lasting impact on his community. The event will recognize Mizanur Khan, who has been a beacon of hope for underprivileged children by providing access to education, and Arup Chowdhury, an environmentalist credited with planting an astonishing 10 lakh trees in Bardhaman, West Bengal. Shukla Debnath will also be celebrated for her tireless efforts in empowering women in Hasimara’s tea estates.

The evening will go beyond grassroots activism, spotlighting cultural and sporting icons who have made India proud. Acclaimed actor Saswata Chatterjee will be honoured for his contributions to Indian cinema, while lifestyle mentor and author Gaur Gopal Das will be recognized for his profound influence on personal development and mindfulness. Celebrated musical duo Sourendro-Soumyojit will receive accolades for their artistic brilliance, and cricketing star Wriddhiman Saha will be acknowledged for his excellence on the field. The legendary Mamata Shankar will be feted for her indelible impact on dance and cinema, continuing her family’s legacy of cultural excellence.
The pinnacle of the evening will be the presentation of the coveted Jibon Kriti (Lifetime Achievement Award) to cricketing legend VVS Laxman. Known for his graceful stroke play and memorable innings for India, Laxman’s enduring contribution to Indian cricket has earned him a special place in the hearts of millions, making this honour a fitting tribute to his illustrious career.

The event will be graced by notable dignitaries, including Dr. Sashi Panja, Minister of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare of West Bengal, and Aroop Biswas, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Power, and Housing in the Government of West Bengal. Prominent figures from cinema, literature, and sports will also join the celebration, such as filmmaker Kamaleswar Mukherjee, theatre stalwarts Debesh Chattopadhyay and Suman Mukherjee, author Swapnomoy Chakraborty, legendary magician P. C. Sorcar Jr., and veteran actor Dipankar De. The event will also welcome national award-winning filmmakers Koushik Ganguly and Churni Ganguly, singer Swagatalaxmi Dasgupta, and cricket administrators Abhishek Dalmiya and Snehasish Ganguly.

Amazing and grim battle for survival. Guess it will end up in Supreme Court. All that NCLT asked Zee to do was to file a reply to Invesco petition for a EGM. Now this is getting too serious. So far Invesco has been hammered for demanding an EGM. What is Zee upto? Ofcourse my lawyer community knows better!
