Zee TV is set to premiere ‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’, an intriguing new primetime show airing from November 11, every Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm.
The show dives into the unique dynamics of an ‘Aata Saata’ marriage— a custom practiced in parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh where families exchange brides to strengthen bonds and maintain mutual obligations.
The narrative follows Reet, a bold reporter from Gwalior, and Raghav, a successful but emotionally guarded businessman, as they navigate a marriage rooted in duty. Played by Ayushi Khurana and Bharat Ahlawat, Reet and Raghav enter into this union for the happiness of their siblings rather than love, as Reet marries Raghav to secure her brother Dhruv’s marriage to Raghav’s sister, Unnati. This arrangement creates a unique interdependency, with both couples’ happiness tied together in an intricate balance.
Nisha Narayanan, Zee TV‘s Chief Channel Officer, highlighted the importance of bringing unique cultural narratives to life, saying, “India’s marriage customs are as diverse as its communities. Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile introduces audiences to a story of love and honor deeply rooted in family traditions.”
Conceptualized by Sonnal A. Kakar and produced by Goldie Behl and Sonnal A. Kakar under Rose Audio Visuals Pvt. Ltd., the series brings to life the clash between age-old customs and the values of today’s youth. Kakar emphasized the complex journey Reet and Raghav undergo as they explore whether a marriage born out of family obligations can evolve into one of true partnership and love.
The show’s lead actors expressed their excitement about the challenging roles. Ayushi Khurana, who plays Reet, spoke about her character’s strength and independence, stating, “Reet’s journey to navigate a marriage that feels like a transaction, while upholding her values, is intense and inspiring.” Bharat Ahlawat, portraying Raghav, highlighted his character’s internal conflict, torn between family loyalty and the reality of an arranged marriage, saying, “Raghav’s journey is about reconciling tradition with individuality in an emotional rollercoaster.”
At the show’s Mumbai launch event, stand-up comedian Abijit Ganguly added a humorous take on relationships, enhancing the audience’s anticipation for this story of unconventional love and cultural tradition.
‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’ is set to be a thought-provoking drama that questions whether a relationship born out of duty can blossom into a bond built on love and respect.
