The world digital premiere of ‘Salaam Venky’ has been announced by ZEE5, India’s largest homegrown video streaming platform.
Following the success of ‘Uunchai’ and ‘Chhatriwali’, the platform brings viewers another slice-of-life drama directed by Revathi, a national award-winning director
‘Salaam Venky’, produced by Suuraj Sinngh’s [Blive Productions], Shraddha Agrawal’s [RTake Studios], and Vishal Kukreja, tells the story of a mother who decides to fight difficult situations and do everything in her power for her son.
The film will be available in Hindi on ZEE5 beginning February 10, 2023.
The film, which features powerful performances by Kajol and Vishal Jethwa, is based on a true story about a young boy who is diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Aahana Kumra, Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prakash Raj, Anant Mahadevan, and Priyamani also play important roles, and Aamir Khan makes a brief appearance.
Salaam Venky follows Venky, a chess player, as he battles a rare disorder and a legal battle for euthanasia to donate his organs before progressive muscular degeneration renders them unusable. Sujatha, his mother, a doctor, a lawyer, and a journalist rally around him in support of his right to die with dignity.
Mithun’s music, which has an IMDB rating of 7.4, adds soul to the film and makes it a feast for cinema connoisseurs.
With its World Digital Premiere on ZEE5, the film will now be available in Hindi to viewers in 190+ countries.
“At ZEE5, we believe in showcasing stories comprised of exceptional talent, high-quality production, vivid formats, and diverse genres,” said Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, of ZEE5 India.
